Ingredients

I'm starting this week with something sweet. I have so many ideas for new posts and so many recipes waiting in the queue, but this one just keeps nagging me that it still hasn't been published. It looks at me so sadly from that long line.

As you can see in the photo, I made these apples for Halloween, but they are perfect any time, including the holidays.

It's important to choose the smallest apples you can find. Big ones will be too heavy and unwieldy.

This recipe is floating around the net, but I didn't follow any particular one. I mixed krówki (Polish milk fudge candies) with fudge caramel spread (masa krówkowa) that was still waiting its turn in my fridge. You can, however, use just the krówki.

Instructions – caramel apples:

Wash and dry the apples, then cut out the cores with a small knife, taking care not to damage the rest of the apple.

In a small saucepan, melt the krówki and the fudge caramel spread together with about 1 tbsp of milk. Dip each apple in the caramel, set it aside for literally a moment so the excess sauce can drip off, and roll it in the nut brittle. Push a stick into the top. Set aside to let the caramel set.

Enjoy!
