Ingredients

You probably think I made a mistake, because there are eggs in the photo :) I didn't get the holidays mixed up, though. I made this baked pâté (pasztet) for Easter, but unfortunately I didn't manage to publish it in time. Since this pâté goes perfectly with Christmas too, the time is right to share it, and I'm adding it to the menu for Christmas 2012.

This is not a fluffy, delicate pâté, but it has a bold flavor and is perfect for a holiday breakfast with sandwiches, or simply with a piece of gherkin or pickled beets.

Baked pâté

On the Dukan diet, replace the flour with wheat bran.

Directions – baked pâté:

Cut up the onion, garlic, meat and liver and place them in a bowl. Add the anchovies and blend, or run everything twice through a meat grinder.

Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F). In the meantime, add the milk, egg and spices to the meat mixture and mix. Grease a loaf pan and fill it with the meat mixture, then bake for about 1 hour. Let it cool and serve.

Enjoy!

If it's pâté, it's ONLY baked and only homemade

    Hi,
I have a question about the baked pâté recipe: should the meat and liver be raw or lightly pre-baked before grinding?

    Best,
    Asia

    Raw. Best wishes
