Ingredients

While browsing one of my favorite foreign recipe sites, Simply recipes, I came across today's recipe. I decided to try it right away, because the combination of apples and gorgonzola seemed very intriguing to me. It turned out that this appetizer is tasty, addictive and perfect for snacking during a movie night with a glass of wine :) It's also great for a party at home or as a New Year's Eve dish. These little pockets are good both warm and cold. They taste great the next day, too.

Puff pastry with apples and gorgonzola cheese

In the original recipe, this appetizer is shaped like little dumplings.

Instructions:

If the puff pastry is frozen, thaw it about 2-3 hours before you start cooking.

Peel the apples, cut out the cores and cut them into small cubes. Put them in a small pot and heat them. They shouldn't turn to mush, just soften. Cook off the liquid, then add the thyme, gorgonzola, honey and chopped walnuts.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

Meanwhile, unroll the pastry and brush it with an egg beaten with a tablespoon of milk. Cut the puff pastry into squares of about 5 cm, or into rectangles of a similar size. Spoon the filling onto half of them. Place the pieces without filling on top of the filling, then press the edges together with a fork so they seal well. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until browned. Let them cool a little before serving.

Enjoy!
