Please forgive my silence over the last few days. Unfortunately my health let me down a bit and I had to slow down. I hope that in a few days I'll be feeling better and will be able to share recipes with you regularly again.
This salad was created in the 19th century at the Waldorf hotel in New York. It's mainly made of pieces of apple, celery and walnuts arranged on lettuce and topped with a mayonnaise dressing. Sometimes, though, dried fruit or even pieces of chicken are added to it as well.
Waldorf Salad
Today I'm suggesting a version with grapes, although the original recipe called for raisins. The salad is very fresh, delicate and light.
Instructions:
Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet or in the oven, then chop them coarsely. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, mayonnaise, honey, parsley and lemon zest, and season well with salt and pepper.
Cut the apples into 8 wedges and remove the cores. Toss them with the celery pieces and the grape halves (if the grapes are small, there's no need to cut them), sprinkle with the lemon juice, then toss with the dressing. Before serving, arrange pieces of lettuce on a platter, spoon the salad with the dressing on top and sprinkle with the walnuts.
Enjoy!

Wow, wow! Your salad looks so beautiful! Perfect for lunch! :)
Everything would be great if it weren't for the celery stalk, which is just disgusting to me.
Joanna, I hope you skipped the celery that's so disgusting to you, made the salad, and enjoyed it.
It looks really appetizing. I think I'll run and try this recipe, yum :)
