A dead simple but far from boring wine snack: goat cheese topped with a sage leaf and wrapped in a slice of pancetta.

Goat cheese appetizer with pancetta and sage

I like to sit down in the evening with a glass of good wine. I like it even more when I have something small to nibble on with it. I like cheese and fruit best, and it's even better when they come together.

Recently I quickly threw together something very simple. The title of the post basically describes the whole "dish" I'm sharing today. It consists of just goat cheese, pancetta and a sage leaf, yet it's less boring than a plain piece of cheese, although I wouldn't turn my nose up at that either.

It gets even more interesting if you fry the sage in butter first.

And you, do you like wine? Do you nibble on something while you drink it? What is it?

Directions:

Cut the cheese into larger cubes, place a piece of sage leaf on each one, and wrap it in a slice of pancetta or another air-cured ham.

Enjoy :)
