The holidays went by fast, way too fast, New Year's Eve is behind us, and unfortunately it's time to get back to "normal" life. For those of you who are starting this year a little lazily, I suggest a dinner that doesn't require long preparation: simple and tasty fish. All you have to do is make the sauce, spread it over the fish, put it in the oven, and wait until it's baked.
With a slightly modified recipe, this dish is also suitable for those on the Dukan diet. Just replace the cream and crème fraîche with fat-free Greek yogurt.
This recipe comes from chefkoch.de.
fish with onions in cream sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 kg white fish fillets, such as pollock or cod (about 4 fillets)
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 200 ml crème fraîche
- 2 tbsp sweet paprika powder
- 500 g onions
- salt
- pepper
- lemon juice
- a little butter
Season the fish with salt and pepper and sprinkle it with lemon juice (as much as you like). Mix the cream, crème fraîche, and paprika together. Peel the onions, slice them into rings, sauté them gently in butter, and season with salt and pepper.
Arrange the pieces of fish next to each other in a lightly greased baking dish. Spread the onions over them, and then the cream and paprika mixture over the onions, so that it covers all the fish.
Put the fish in the oven without preheating it and bake with the convection (fan) setting at 160°C (320°F) for 45 minutes.
Serve with rice and green salad.
Additional notes:
For some variety and to give the sauce a little more kick, you can add capers and/or garlic. You can also add tomato purée to the sauce.

Until now I only bought cod for "ryba po grecku," but today I made it using your recipe and it came out tasty and delicate. A wonderful fish dinner, I'll be making it more often. Thanks for the great recipe.
