There are tons of sauces for grilled food in the stores, but nothing compares to homemade ones. They're not complicated, their flavor and aroma are so much better, not to mention that we know exactly what's in them. This version of the sauce is quick to make. It's perfect with grilled or roasted poultry, sausages or fish, and also with, for example, ribs. You can use it both as a marinade and as a sauce served alongside. All you need is a tasty green salad and a baguette, or roasted potatoes, and a delicious meal is ready.
Barbecue sauce
Directions:
Peel and chop the garlic and onion. Wash the herbs and pull off the leaves.
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan, add the onion and garlic and sauté lightly. Add the canned tomatoes, molasses, herbs and Worcestershire sauce, bring to a boil and simmer uncovered over low heat until the sauce thickens, stirring often with a wooden spoon. Blend, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
Enjoy!
Additional notes:
You can change the flavor of the sauce a little by changing the type of herbs, or leave them out completely. For red meats and fish I would mainly use rosemary, and for poultry, tarragon. I also add thyme and oregano.
P.S. By the way, please forgive such a lousy photo, but sometimes when I'm away from home I just can't manage to take a decent picture. I promise to replace it with a new one as soon as I can.
