I'm already planning what to bake for Bread Day, hosted by Zorra, and I think it would be great if more people joined in. Baking bread is a lot of fun, and it's not nearly as hard as it might seem. Unfortunately, I've neglected it a bit lately, but thanks to dawny_basik, who shared her wonderful sourdough starter with me, I'm going to change that. So there will be a sourdough bread here soon, and definitely one on October 16.
I'm sure many of you already know about this event, but maybe some of you haven't heard of it and will want to join in.
So what is this Bread Day all about? Here's what Zorra writes (I hope my translation is reasonably understandable :)).
Remember this date and mark it in your calendar – October 16 is World Bread Day! Every year since 2006, hundreds of bloggers from all over the world have baked bread for this special occasion. So let's do it once again:
Bake a loaf of bread for World Bread Day and show it on your blog!
I (Zorra) will collect all the posts and put together a roundup. If you need inspiration, check out the roundup from the previous Bread Days.
I hope that once again we'll fill a big basket with bread from all over the world.
How to take part:
Please read the instructions below carefully. An email and a link to this post are mandatory. Without them, your post will not appear in the roundup. Thank you for your understanding.
Bake a bread, take a photo of it, and show it on your blog on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Not earlier and not later, and please only one post per blog. Your post should be a new one, prepared especially for this occasion, and it can't be entered in any other event.
Fill out the form that will appear on Zorra's site on October 14, and your post will be included in the roundup.
Please link to Zorra's announcement in your post. All posts will be collected only until October 17.
The post can be written in any language.
If you have any questions about the event, you can contact Zorra at kochtopf(at)gmail.com or write to me (the contact is under the "write to me" tab at the top of the blog).
Of course, posting the logo is welcome :)

I also invite you to join us, non-bloggers too, on my Facebook page for World Bread Day.
