Twisted Bacon Sticks

These sticks are very easy and quick to make, and I highly recommend them, especially since you can use ready-made puff pastry.

Twisted Bacon Sticks

Ingredients

Once, while visiting my sister, we were putting together a few different snacks. Among other things, we had puff pastry on hand. After taking a closer look at what was in the fridge, bacon joined the puff pastry, and Ewa rolled them up in no time. That's how these tasty little twists came to be.

This year, while preparing a little something for New Year's Eve, we went back to this method. This time Ewa added some yellow cheese as well. The sticks hadn't even cooled down yet, and most of them were already gone. I think the kids liked them best, although they were also perfect with beer or as a snack "in between" things.

These sticks are very simple and fairly quick to make, and I highly recommend them. Especially since you can use ready-made puff pastry.

Instructions:

Unroll the dough and cut it crosswise into strips about 2 cm wide. Then cut each strip in half. Place a piece of cheese on a strip of dough, then a strip of bacon, and twist the whole thing into a spiral. Bake the sticks at 200°C (390°F) for about 15 minutes, or until browned.

Enjoy!

Can these breadsticks be served cold? Or is it better to serve them warm? I'm not sure if I can bake them 2 hours before the guests arrive…

They're best fresh, but 2 hours is fine. Don't worry, you can go ahead and make them. You can make them the evening before at the latest. Have fun!

The breadsticks were the biggest hit and they were good both warm and cold. They were tasty even today, and even though I made several dozen of them, there's no trace of them left. Greetings :)
