These are cookies that came about by accident. I had planned to bake some delicious cookies, but I kept putting it off. I postponed it so many times that when I finally started baking, it turned out I was missing a few ingredients. But I was in such a mood for something sweet that I didn't give up and decided to improvise. And so these oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate and dried cherries were born. They turned out tender, slightly crumbly, with a texture similar to cake. On the second and third day they were just as tasty, although they're best while still warm. With very little effort, I had something sweet to enjoy with my coffee and, above all, to take along on a trip, where cookies simply could not be missing. Next time, though, I'll skip the dried cherries, because they turned bitter after baking. But you can use any of your favorite add-ins.
