Ah, it's so nice to be in Poland. From time to time I need to come visit my family, rest, break away from everyday life and just be with my loved ones. While I'm here, I get to treat myself to some delicious food, too. I've already had my fill of bigos (Polish hunter's stew) ;) But I haven't forgotten about blogging :)
Today I'm sharing a little something with you. It's an incredibly simple, cheap and quick dish. These little yeast rolls with a hot dog inside are perfect for nibbling or as a snack with beer. They're also great for dinner or for a kids' party.
mini hot dogs
The author of this delicious recipe is Eposka.
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Add the sugar to the yeast, and when it dissolves, mix it well with the egg yolks, then add the oil, sour cream and slightly warmed milk. Mix thoroughly. Sift the flour and mix it with the salt, then pour the yeast mixture into it. Knead a smooth dough, then divide it into 2 parts and roll each one out into a 20 cm x 25 cm rectangle. Using a pastry wheel or a sharp knife, cut strips 2 cm x 20 cm and brush each one with the beaten egg white. Place a hot dog or sausage at the edge and wrap the strip around it in a spiral. If I'm using mini hot dogs, I cut the strips in half again (2 cm x 10 cm). Do the same with the remaining dough. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush them with the beaten egg white and bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown. Serve the same day, plain or with dipping sauces.
Enjoy!

I ate them, delicious!
Great for a party! :)
What else can you make these mini hot dogs with?
You can add cheese. You can also fill the dough with some kind of filling, like meat or cabbage, and bake it too. You can serve the mini hot dogs with ketchup or dips.
I made them yesterday and they're delicious! The dough is really tasty. I put some yellow cheese inside too. Great recipe!
I'm glad you liked them :)
Super, but can you buy buns like these somewhere?
You can make them yourself, just like it says in the recipe :)
Do I dissolve the yeast in a small amount of water? That's how it's written, and only later do I add the milk.
I made them for New Year's Eve and everyone loved them. I used half of the dough and got 25 mini hot dogs :D Next time I'll try the little pasties. Could you share a tried-and-true filling?
