My dears, Halloween is approaching relentlessly. I don't really celebrate this day in any big way, I don't throw parties and I don't dress up. But this year my kids decided to join the other kids and dress up, and I will surely greet a few neighborhood children who will come threatening us with a trick. So for the occasion, I'm gathering simple recipes for colorful treats that will make the costumed little ones happy. I also hope to find something savory. There will be something for my adult coworkers too, who will surely be happy about some sweets. This post is really motivation for me and a collection of recipes in one place, which may come in handy this year and in the years to come. I hope you will make use of it too.
Almond cookies
For me, Halloween is a special occasion too, but more on that soon.
As you can see, I don't have that many of these recipes yet, but I will keep adding to the list. Today I'm starting with witch fingers and almond cookies.
Here are the Halloween recipes I suggest:
Pumpkin cupcakes
Witch fingers
Halloween almond cookies
Halloween almond cookies
Today's Halloween almond cookies are among the most delicate and tastiest cookies I've ever eaten. They are crisp and tender, and of course they're not only for Halloween.
I don't recommend cookie cutters with overly complicated shapes, because the cookies spread a little while baking and lose their shape.
How to make almond cookies:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a bowl, mix the flour, chopped almonds and sugar. Add the chopped soft butter and the orange zest, quickly knead the dough and shape it into a ball.
Lightly dust the counter with flour and roll the dough out on it into a sheet about 3 mm thick, then cut out cookies. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool and ice them as you like.
Enjoy!
Additional information:
Thin cookies are crisp and delicate. If the dough is rolled out too thick, the cookies turn a bit rubbery.
