September and October are plum season at our house, and that's when I bake this yeast cake with plums and streusel (a crumbly butter topping) at least once a week. I got the recipe from a neighbor a while back, and it has worked for me for years.

Directions – Yeast Cake with Plums and Streusel:
Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk with a tablespoon of sugar (from the amount listed) and set aside for 10 minutes. Mix the flour with the rest of the sugar and the salt, add the starter, eggs and melted butter, then knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover with a kitchen towel and set aside in a warm place for about an hour, until doubled in size.
Wash the plums, pit them and cut them in half. Work the flour, sugar and cold butter together with your fingers into a streusel.
Spread the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (about 30 x 40 cm), arrange the plums tightly skin side down and sprinkle with the streusel.

Let it rest for another 20 minutes. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) (conventional setting, top and bottom heat) for about 40 minutes, until the streusel turns golden brown.
It's best still slightly warm, with a dollop of whipped cream :)
Enjoy!
