I came across this recipe completely by accident, out of necessity. I needed a side dish for grilled meat, but all I had in the fridge was green onions. I'm glad I decided to make these skewers, because they turned out really tasty and light. They go great with red meat. They're also perfect as a snack.
I wish you a lovely weekend and happy grilling!
green onion skewers
The recipe comes from the book "Grillgerichte & Salate" by R. Donhauser
Directions:
Wash the green onions and trim the ends, then pour boiling water over them and drain.
Melt the butter in a pot and sauté the green onions until translucent, then add the sugar and cook, stirring constantly. Pour in the broth or wine, season, and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat. Drain, thread onto skewers, and serve.
Enjoy!
