Are you already thinking about gingerbread cookies? Yes, yes, it's time already! I know summer just ended and we're still getting used to the chill of fall, but if you want to make Aganiok gingerbread cookies, it's time to mix up the dough for them. This year I managed to remember a little earlier than last year – HERE.
What else needs to be prepared ahead of time?
Definitely Toruń gingerbread (piernik toruński) and marzipan krajanka (a sliced marzipan confection).
I don't know yet which other gingerbread cookies I'll be baking this year. Definitely Aganiok gingerbread cookies, because that's already a tradition in my house, and Pepparkakor and ginger cookies for the gingerbread house, marzipan krajanka, and, as usual, a ton of cookies for Advent. And the rest? I don't know yet.
And here's what I made last year, if you're looking for inspiration – HERE

These gingerbread cookies are so pretty!
Yes, I'm making gingerbread... but not just yet... I start in mid-November... my favorite gingerbread cookies need to "rest" for a while, but it's already a family tradition that I patiently bake away while my boys gobble them up, and by Christmas we're left with hardly any gingerbread :):)
I've been baking gingerbread cookies with my daughter for a few years now too. I just always have trouble with the icing. Mine never turns out like yours. Beautiful baking :). Warm regards
Estero, if the cookies are just for decoration, I make the icing with egg white instead of water. If they're for eating, I make it with lemon or orange juice, cocoa, or coffee. The icing has to be very thick, otherwise it loses its color.
Not me yet, I'll wait another two or three weeks. But I'm slowly starting to think about the holidays :)
