Dear friends, I've been thinking about creating a forum for quite some time now. I've finally managed to get motivated (thank you, Hubby :)) and take steps toward opening the forum. It's a forum about cooking, but also about life. I'd like it to be a place for discussions and cooking tips, but there will also be room for chatting about everything and nothing. The forum is still under construction, but we'll do our best to make it a friendly place for its "residents" as soon as possible. You're all INVITED to KUCHNIAIZYCIE.COM, and I hope you'll want to come and visit me there.
And now, time for the recipe.
Is the weather playing games with you, too? Sun one minute, rain the next, threats of storms. Actually, it's not so bad, because it had been dry and the plants need water, but there hasn't been much sun lately.
Cranberry lemonade
Today's post came about a bit in defiance of the weather, in the hope that I'll lure the sun out. This lemonade is wonderfully refreshing. I haven't tried it, but I think that if you added even more ginger, it would also taste great served warm and would be pleasantly warming. I'll definitely have to try that version.
In the meantime, I invite you to have a cooling sip of lemonade.
Directions:
Wash the lemons with boiling water, zest them, and squeeze out the juice. In a pot, heat the juice with the honey and 700 ml water, add 3 sprigs of mint and the peeled ginger, chopped or grated, cover, and set aside to cool. After that time, strain the drink through a sieve and pour it into a pitcher. Add the cranberry juice, stir, add ice, and serve garnished with the remaining mint leaves.
Enjoy!
Additional notes:
- If you like, you can replace the honey with brown sugar (or, as a last resort, white sugar)
- I recommend starting with less honey and sweetening the finished drink further if needed
