## Instructions

For my homemade pasta I chose a sauce with [Brussels sprouts](https://flowers-recipes.com/brussels-sprouts/) and meatballs. Since [Brussels sprouts](https://flowers-recipes.com/brussels-sprouts/) are a winter vegetable and are now available in just about every vegetable shop, they show up on our table quite often. Bea writes wonderfully about winter vegetables - [HERE](http://www.beawkuchni.com/2010/01/warzywa-sezonowe-zima.html) - so I won't go on about it. I just want to encourage you to eat seasonal produce. True, even I sometimes buy zucchini or broccoli in winter, even though their season ends at the beginning of winter, but I still value winter vegetables like all kinds of cabbage, parsnips, leeks, celery, carrots or potatoes (though a bit less). Why we should eat seasonal vegetables is also mentioned by [Bea](http://www.beawkuchni.com/2010/01/warzywa-sezonowe-zima.html).

I wrote about Brussels sprouts themselves some time ago - [HERE](https://flowers-recipes.com/brussels-sprouts/). If you like this vegetable, I invite you to try [Brussels sprouts in balsamic sauce](https://flowers-recipes.com/brussels-sprouts-in-balsamic-sauce/). I also have a few more ideas "in reserve" that are waiting for their moment.

Maybe in time I'll manage to convince at least one person to cook them, after all they're a healthy vegetable (Gabrysia writes about that too - [HERE](http://dieta-surowa.blogspot.com/2010/03/antynowotworowe-warzywa-i-owoce.html)), and even a tasty one.

I used to steer clear of Brussels sprouts too. Now I could eat them even once a week. You just have to prepare them the right way. In a soup or a good sauce, I manage to sneak them in even for the kids.

Without the pasta and additions like cream, this sauce will surely appeal to those on the Dukan diet.

Enjoy your meal, happy reading, and have a lovely, relaxing weekend!

Season the ground meat with salt and pepper and shape it into small balls. Fry them in a skillet until golden. Cut the bell peppers into thin strips, then in half; peel the onions and dice them. Wash the Brussels sprouts, remove the outer leaves and cut them in half. Sauté all the vegetables in oil in a pot, then add the meatballs. Pour in the broth, add the tomatoes, chili and caraway, and simmer until the vegetables are tender. At the end, stir in the cream or thicken the sauce with flour.

Pour the sauce over pasta or eat it with a baguette.

Enjoy!

I'm not afraid of Brussels sprouts at all, and I'd love to try your recipe. It looks so appetizing! :)
