## Ingredients

- 125 g soft butter
- 75 g powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 260 g all-purpose flour + flour for rolling
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 110 g ready-made poppy seed filling
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 18 tbsp orange juice
- 150 g ground almonds
- 50 g ground nuts, e.g. hazelnuts
- 100 g sugar
- 200 g powdered sugar for the glaze

## Instructions

Huh, I made 15 kinds of cookies this year and gave away more than 30 sweet packages. So I can consider this year's Advent baking officially done. Enough! Now I can think about Louisa's birthday, and then calmly wait for Christmas. I'm already looking forward to it :)

It's a shame I won't be able to publish all the cookie recipes, because many of them are really delicious and I have a few new ones. Oh well, they'll just have to wait until next year :)

Orange Poppy Seed Bars

## Instructions – Orange Poppy Seed Bars:

Cream the butter, 75 g powdered sugar, salt and egg until fluffy. Add the poppy seed filling, baking powder and flour and knead into a uniform but sticky dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Mix the orange zest and 16 tbsp of the juice with the almonds, nuts and sugar, and set aside in a cool place.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a pan of about 30×25 cm with parchment paper. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll out the first part to the size of the pan and place it on the parchment (the dough is sticky, so feel free to dust it generously with flour). Spread the filling over the dough, then roll out the second part of the dough and lay it on top of the filling.

Bake for about 20 minutes.

Prepare the glaze – mix the powdered sugar with the remaining juice and spread it over the still-warm cake. Let it cool and cut into small pieces (I cut mine into rectangles of about 3×2 cm).

Enjoy!
