## Posts

I was wondering whether to end my chocolate weekend (about the Chocolate Weekend event, see **[Chocolate Weekend HERE](http://atinabc.blox.pl/2011/01/Zaproszenie-na-Czekoladowy-Weekend.html)**) with yesterday's **[risotto with chocolate](https://flowers-recipes.com/fruity-risotto-with-chocolate/)** or post something else. In the end I decided to add this post too, even though these little balls are dead simple. Maybe that's exactly why they belong here?

I made these balls while preparing a layer cake. I had some leftover melted white chocolate and leftover sponge cake. Since I hate throwing food away, especially such tasty leftovers, I decided to do something with them.

I won't go into a list of ingredients and so on. **Making** these **little balls** is dead simple:

Crumble the sponge cake very finely, mix it with the melted, slightly thickening chocolate, and shape into little balls. Roll them in your coating and put them in the fridge to harden.

I rolled my truffles in shredded coconut, but ground nuts or almonds work just as well, and so do colorful sprinkles or even crumbled sponge cake. You can of course use dark chocolate too.

That's the end of my chocolate weekend. Enjoy, and have a peaceful, sunny Sunday. The sun is shining beautifully here, and after lunch we're going for a family walk.

I'm planning to make pralines out of sponge cake and chocolate today too, but a little different ones. It's a great idea for when you have leftover sponge cake trimmings or some spare ladyfingers from tiramisu. So simple, so tasty, so elegant.
