## Ingredients

- 500 g ground meat, preferably half beef, half pork
- 1 can red kidney beans (about 400 g)
- 1 can tomatoes (about 400 g)
- half a cinnamon stick (although I like to add a whole one)
- salt
- pepper
- a little cumin
- 2 sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
- 1 large or 2 small onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- chili pepper or pepperoncini (amount depends on taste)
- about 150 ml sour cream
- olive oil

## Instructions

Chili con carne is a spicy dish based on meat and chili. It's my favorite dish for guests, especially when I don't have much time to prepare or when I'm hosting a larger group. You make it while you do other things, you can (and actually should) make it a day ahead, and it disappears in a flash.

This recipe is inspired by a recipe from Jamie Oliver.

Peel the onion, cut it into half-slices and sauté it in a pan. Add the garlic and the chopped chili peppers (seeds removed). Add the ground meat and season with the spices. After a moment, crush the tomatoes (unless they're already puréed) and pour them over the meat. Season again to taste if needed. Now add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes too. Add the cinnamon and simmer everything over low heat for at least an hour. About half an hour before serving, add the beans and keep simmering. You can also take out the cinnamon now. The beans shouldn't get overcooked. They should only be heated through.

Serve with a big dollop of sour cream and a baguette.

Enjoy!
